Chad Ford also said about Lee that other good defending UCLA guards weren't high draft picks, but have also turned into good NBA guards (Afflalo, Holliday, Collison) so there is hope. That's the same hope I have for Rubio's jumper based on Jason Kidd's history - inconsistent shooter turned into a very solid 3 point shooter as he got older and stronger.naakrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01734624968504438110noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1909940485678079047.post-39307385581474283032012-03-08T23:37:01.896-06:002012-03-08T23:37:01.896-06:00Just caught the opening line of the previous blog....Just caught the opening line of the previous blog... Very funny, I missed that on the first read. Was it there the whole time. Back on subject. I don't know too much about Lee either but his bio looks like it was plagiarized from Wes Johnson and yet again from Corey Brewer. Maybe it is the curse of Doug West, but the Wolves seem to love the wings that have a defensive upside but have an inconsistent jump shotDwight Gudimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12076043387465724032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1909940485678079047.post-80285598854732209972012-03-08T15:26:06.212-06:002012-03-08T15:26:06.212-06:00You nailed it. I don't know how healthy that it, especially during playoff basketball (there I said it), but the rumored players coming to the Wolves would not provide any different results.Dwight Gudimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12076043387465724032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1909940485678079047.post-47545922164350993912012-03-07T22:13:21.700-06:002012-03-07T22:13:21.700-06:00Crawford with 3 of 13 tonight and 0-6 from 3 point...Crawford with 3 of 13 tonight and 0-6 from 3 point land. Ridnour scored 22 points on 8-16 shooting. With JJ not being able to complete a game healthy, and his "dribble into the lane and pray" play lately and Rubios shooting woes, we need Ridnour as a point guard backup and a primary shooter. I haven't been the biggest Luke fan, but I agree with BAakre, we probably should not make this trade right now. I hope I am just not reacting to this one game to sway me though.Dwight Gudimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12076043387465724032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1909940485678079047.post-78537734050360894782012-03-07T21:28:24.826-06:002012-03-07T21:28:24.826-06:00This comment has been removed by the author.Dwight Gudimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12076043387465724032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1909940485678079047.post-66763559399842428652012-03-06T12:33:43.600-06:002012-03-06T12:33:43.600-06:00Like I told Dwight last night during the game afte...Like I told Dwight last night during the game after he tweeted about the Clippers not knowing how to handle winning after 30 years of stink... I would compare the L.A. Clippers to the NFL's Detroit Lions instead of the Eagles. The Clippers have been the butt of the joke for years. They continually make personal mistakes. And now, they land arguably the best point guard in the NBA (save your CP2 jokes for now although they are hilarious...) and they win games and bam!! Detroit Lions. The way they constantly petition officials for ridiculous calls, the way they play with the arrogance of 5-time defending champions when they haven't won anything. Ever. And now the way Blake Griffin and Kenyon Martin get technicals that cost their team the game.. Detroit LIONS! The other thing I told Dwight: it is still unfair to compare Griffin to Suh though, because Suh is a much superior Free Throw shooter. Ooh, zing. Can't stand that dude. And as an avid Nebraska football fan, it pains me to say that he is turning into the Ndamukong Suh of the NBA - freakishly athletic, despised by all except his teammates. Feels good to sweep those guys!baakrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15622711045523332853noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1909940485678079047.post-62161880060502424092012-02-22T12:42:23.629-06:002012-02-22T12:42:23.629-06:00Couldn't agree more.
Once again, going pack ...Couldn't agree more.

Once again, going pack to the Pau Gasol rumors, I think you have that chip right now to trade (D-Will) and you have to be so wise when dealing him. The Wolves have missed on many deals (ala Ricky Davis, Terrell Brandon, Marko Jaric - but that was also McHale so lets let it go... Seriously, let it go.). Kahn was able to trade Foye/Miller for the Rubio pick. Kahn has also been reluctant to deal any young talent in the past. So call me too big of a homer, but I believe Kahnzi won't just make a trade for the sake of making a trade. He has assets right now (Williams, Beasley, Pek) and I think he won't make that big move unless there is a great fit (ERIC GORDON!!!!!), and I don't believe that is Monta Ellis. The worst thing that happens if we don't trade Williams and/or Beasley? We still have 2 really good young basketball players for this year. And although that might mean we struggle around .500 for the year and painfully watch some of the worst wing play in NBA history, it also means we hold on to Williams who figures to be a trade asset for the next 2-3 years while he's under contract here.

Saying all that, would I be ticked if we traded for Monta Ellis? C'mon! No way! That guy is fun to watch. But Winnersville over long periods of time is way better than Loserville with a flashy 2-guard.baakrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15622711045523332853noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1909940485678079047.post-32244967261515838142012-02-20T14:50:17.819-06:002012-02-20T14:50:17.819-06:00Ahh, now we know what gjensrud does on his days of...Ahh, now we know what gjensrud does on his days off from school! I don't really want to see us go afte...I agree. I don't really want to see us go after Gasol for a couple reasons:

1. He has struggled when he has to play the 5. I think he is much better when he has his nookie-blankie (Bynum) in the game rather than having to go down low. Gasol has been at his best playing the 4 when he can be versatile and go inside and out - and more importantly play against 4's instead of 5's. Does that sound like the perrenial all-star we already have? Yeesh.

2. I don't want to undervalue how good Gasol is, but in my opinion he does not have a lengthy future ahead of him. Now do we run with what we have right now, roll the dice and see what happens in the next year to 3 years? Or do we go the OKC route and keep allowing this group of players to develop into a championship team? Don't get me wrong, there are still a lot of pieces missing. A lot! But we have a core to build around. And like you said, I would love to see a 2-guard in the mix instead (ERIC GORDON!!!!!). Don't know what to think about the 20-year old D-Will. Don't want to give up on him, but have to realize he is an extrememly valuable asset. But for the right piece only. And I don't think Gasol is the right one.

But hey, isn't it fun to actually be talking about guys to bring in rather than who we can ship off at the break? Forgot how fun this was..baakrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15622711045523332853noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1909940485678079047.post-2516654692290743692012-02-18T02:01:13.192-06:002012-02-18T02:01:13.192-06:00And you gotta love those Gophers over the Sioux an...And you gotta love those Gophers over the Sioux and Bison!
